THE MOST SCENIC ROAD IN REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK

Cruising through the heart of giant old-growth redwood groves makes for a fantastic California redwoods bike tour.

The eastern section of the road is mostly flat with some gentle, rolling hills through amazing rainforest scenery and views of the clear blue waters of Mill Creek, a prime habitat for spawning salmon. Make an optional stop when you reach the trailhead for Stout Grove – this short, half-mile loop takes you through the most scenic and famous redwood groves on the planet!

You can turn back to the trailhead at any time, or bike through to a large hill on the western section of the road. It can add heart-pumping speed for thrill-seekers – but it’s totally optional! A fun fact for all you history buffs – Howland Hill was an old stagecoach road used to connect inland mining towns with the port in Crescent City during the heyday of California’s gold rush.

This winding, hard-packed dirt road is the poster child of historic redwood travel! Book your northern California bike tour online today.
